STAR 2.0 x  INFINITO Festival in Cascais: come and meet us!

On 11 September 2026, STAR 2.0 joins the INFINITO Festival in Bairro da Torre, Cascais, for an afternoon dedicated to street art, youth participation and community connection.

Bairro da Torre is a powerful example of how urban art can transform not only public spaces, but also perceptions of a neighbourhood. Since 2016, local residents, young people, organisations and artists have worked together to turn the area into an open-air gallery, now featuring more than 20 large-scale murals.

And there could hardly be a better setting for STAR 2.0. Festival Infinito itself grew from a youth-led urban regeneration initiative that used street art to transform public spaces and bring communities together. What began with eight artists creating eight murals in eight days has grown into a celebration of creativity, participation and community – values that strongly resonate with STAR 2.0.

At the heart of STAR 2.0 lies a simple but powerful idea: street art can become a space for participation. Throughout the project, young people, youth workers, artists and local communities have come together to imagine, design and create artworks rooted in the places where they live. The process is as important as the final murals: creating together means exchanging perspectives, building trust, developing new skills and giving young people a visible way to express their ideas and shape their communities.

During the INFINITO Festival, STAR 2.0 will bring these experiences to Cascais, sharing the stories, artworks and lessons emerging from its pilots in Portugal, Italy, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, and opening them up to new conversations, encounters and connections with the Festival community.
